The St. Georg Clinic focuses on rehabilitation and aftercare for patients suffering from cancers or respiratory diseases. We have signed agreements with numerous insurances and institutions regarding the funding of our healthcare services. Our success is due to a thoughtful mix of therapies, the mildly bracing climate of Höchenschwand and a certified quality management.

FRANK PORTEN’S COMMITMENT TO HÖCHENSCHWAND
FRANK PORTEN’S COMMITMENT TO HÖCHENSCHWAND
A DELIGHTFUL IDEA THAT BENEFITS THE LOCAL AREA
From 2004 to May 2014, Frank Porten was member of the town council of Höchenschwand, pursuing essentially the following goals: foster the structure of the local agriculture, characterised by small farms, and safeguard jobs in the local area. We would like to cite one of his numerous ideas: the “Wälderschinken”, an air-dried beef specialty, which he developed in collaboration with the organisers of the Farmer’s Market and the local farmers. Meanwhile, the “Wälderschinken” is a well-established delicacy, which has helped considerably enhance the culinary reputation of the local area, notably thanks to the “Schinkenweg” which invites for a delightful walk.
WHEN IT IS ALL ABOUT STRAW IN HÖCHENSCHWAND
Another idea of Frank Porten pleases the eyes, rather than the taste buds: the local straw sculpture competition. Every two years, the competition is an impressive showcase proving the potential of straw as a vehicle for artistic expression and the artistic skills of the local population. You are welcome to join us in Höchenschwand to see for yourself or take a look at strohskulpturen.de
AWARD-WINNING COMMITMENT TO THE HOMELAND
For many years, Frank Porten has produced unconventional ideas while being involved in the work of the local Society of Culture. After having been its chairman for a long time, he eventually became honorary chairman. In 2013, he was awarded the “Wirtschaftsmedaille” medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg for his outstanding merits gained in the promotion of the local economy. We were extremely pleased that his commitment had been recognised and awarded on such a high level.
