ENJOY THE PLEASANT DIVERSITY OF THE BLACK FOREST

The village of Höchenschwand is located in the heart of the beautiful Southern Black Forest. Supposedly, you will now imagine an unspoilt nature, majestic trees, pristine woodlands and you may virtually breathe the fresh air, gently filled with the scent of resin. This imagination matches indeed the reality, however Höchenschwand and its surroundings have many more things to offer. You can, for example, enjoy a wide range of amazing outdoor pursuits depending on the season, such as horse riding, golf, windsurfing, boccia, sledging and snowshoeing, to cite only a few. A MYTH EVOLVING OVER TIME

The mountain range takes its name from the Roman denomination “Silva Nigra”, meaning literally “Black Forest”. However, this was not by poetry: they conceived the Black Forest as a gloomy expanse of impenetrable woodlands with steep sided gorges, infested with wild animals.
